Well-Being, Development and Social Justice

Translated from the English and with an introduction by Bojana Radnovanović and Marko Konjović

The translation of Well-Being, Development and Social Justice: An Introduction to the Capabilities Approach is an attempt to familiarize the Serbian readership with an influential paradigm of socio-economic development and justice. In addition to the translation, the editors have provided an introductory study of three texts by the founders of the capabilities approach: the Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen and prominent philosopher Martha Nussbaum. The book seeks to acquaint readers with the basic theoretical underpinnings of the capabilities approach, the possibilities of its practical application, and highlight some of key points of disagreement between its creators.
