Abrégé de métapolitique
Alain Badiou
In his Abrégé de métapolitique, Alain Badiou affirms metapolitics as the opposite of political philosophy. Political philosophies have the tendency to consider the state as “an element of the investigation of politics as thought”. The key question is how to think democracy in its independence from the state (“the state does not think”)? The answer to this question enables the return of emancipatory potential to politics and the philosophical reflection on truth, justice, and equality, independent of the creations of institutionalized democracy.
