Zagorka Golubović was one of the founders of social anthropology in Serbia and decisively influenced the development of the study of sociology and anthropology at the University of Belgrade.
Relying on the heritage of the Yugoslav Praxis School as a field of engaged thought, the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory places the studies of social engagement at the centre of its research activities.
In commemoration of the philosopher Miladin Životić, the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade confers an annual award for the critical engagement of leading theorists, whose activity has produced notable critical resonance in social practice.
