Išpanović Igor

Igor Ispanovic is a PhD student in Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Belgrade and a research assistant at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory. Previously, he completed his undergraduate studies in Journalism and received his master’s degree in Communication Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad. He defended his thesis titled Analysis of Fascism as a Signifier in Online News Media “Danas” and “Informer”.

His research interests revolve around post-structuralist and post-Marxist approaches to discourse theory, new materialism, theory of assemblages, and the relationship between society and space. He was previously active in the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (IJAV) and was involved as a journalist in projects by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN). In his work, he tackles topics such as the devastation of natural resources, right-wing extremism, and human trafficking and labor exploitation. He has received several awards for his journalism work.
