The lecture is made up of two parts. The first part is devoted to the results of the analysis of the citation metric of sociological classics in the journal Sociology for the period 1997–2017. For the starting point of this analysis, regarding the use of citation analysis methods, we took the work of Aljoša Mimica and Vladimir Vuletić named “Where Has the Third Classic Disappeared? The Citation Analysis of Marx’s, Weber’s, and Durkheim’s Works in the Journal Sociologija from 1959 to 1996. In the second part of the lecture, general tendencies will be presented regarding the specific characteristics of the authors and the works (according to the gender and age of the authors, the type of article, the languages in which the works were published etc.). In this case the same period is also covered.
Božidar Filipović is a sociologist. From 2012 to February this year he worked at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade (Department of Sociology) as an assistant. The field of his interest is sociological theory.
Aleksandra Marković is currently on doctoral academic studies and is working on the dissertation on the ideological-political orientation of the precariat in Serbia. Since 2018, she has been employed as a research assistant on the project of the Institute for Sociological Research, where she was previously hired from 2014 to 2018 as a scholar of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development.
