ETIENNE BALIBAR AWARDED ANNUAL AWARD “MILADIN ŽIVOTIĆ”

The Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade conferred the annual award "Miladin Životić", awarded for critical engagement of theorists whose work has had a significant impact on society, to Etienne Balibar. The event, co-organized by the Center for Advanced Studies of Southeast Europe, the University of Rijeka and the Center for Critical Studies of Democracy of the American University in Paris, took place on December 11, 2020.

Etienne Balibar is one the most well known contemporary french philosophers and academics. He taught at the University of Paris X-Nanterre and the University of California Irvine and is currently Anniversary Chair Professor at the Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy (CRMEP) at Kingston University and Visiting Professor at the Department of French and Romance Philology at Columbia University.
