Can Social Engagement Challenge Neoliberal Democracy?

The Group for Social Engagement Studies is co-hosting a seminar with Social Science Centre Berlin, with the aim to introduce the idea of Social Engagement Studies, pursuing for new ideas and potential partners in advancing this prospective field. The meeting’s main objective is not only to establish friendly academic collaboration, but to enable critical recourse to specific forms of social engagement challenging democracy in contemporary world. The workshop will, hence, address several questions based on understanding of ‘anti-instrumentalist’ social engagement as the most poignant path to advancing democracy.
