Maurizio Lazzarato is Italian sociologist, philosopher and activist. After studying at the University of Padova, he moved to Paris where he currently lives and works as an independent researcher. He is one of the founders of the influential Parisian journal Multitudes, and is member of Collège International de Philosophie. His main topics include nonmaterial work, labor, ontology of labor, precariat, cognitive capitalism, biopolitics, social movements, activism and arts. His most important works are: Lavoro immateriale. Forme di vita e produzione di soggettività, Les Révolutions du capitalisme, Le Gouvernement des inégalités. Critique de l’insécurité néolibérale, Expérimentations politiques and most recently (translated into English) The Making of the Indebted Man.
