[Panel discussion] Cycle “How to teach…?” How (and why) to teach philanthropy?
🗓 24 Nov 🕒 12:00pm 🔹IFDT - Kraljice Natalije 45
SolidCare Lab and EduLab in cooperation with Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation are organizing a panel discussion How (and why) to teach philanthropy?
In the How to Teach… cycle, this time the topic is philanthropy. Philanthropy studies are present and increasingly so at the universities around the world. Is this phenomenon studied in this country too? Should it be? What study programs exist? What is their educational and what is their social function? What is the relationship between philanthropic and academic organizations? Finally, what is the special status of philanthropy as a social phenomenon by which it deserves to be in the focus of scientific research and teaching?
These and related questions will be discussed by:
- Jelena Lončar, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade
- Natalija Perišić, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade
- Vukašin Kuč, Faculty of Economics, University of Belgrade
- Željko Mitkovski, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation
- Đurđa Trajković, Reconstruction Women’s Fund
- Bojana Radovanović, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (moderator)
- Predrag Krstić, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (moderator)
The panel is supported through the Framework for Giving Project, implemented by the Coalition for Giving, which is led by Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development – USAID. The members of the Coalition for Giving are also the Trag Foundation, Catalyst Balkans, SMART Kolektiv, the Serbian Philanthropic Forum, the Responsible Business Forum and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
🔹 Due to the epidemiological situation, we haven’t planned for live audience presence. Instead, the event will be streamed online via Zoom and IFDT FB page, and the video of the conversation will be available on the YouTube channel of the IFDT “Angažovana misao”.
