30 nov 2020

The European Movement in Serbia and Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory have the pleasure to invite you to the promotion of the website “SerbianAlbanian Friendship”, that will be held online on Monday, November 30, starting at 10:30 a.m.
This website is a part of the project “Democratization and Reconciliation in the Western Balkans” that is being implemented by the European Movement in Serbia, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory from Belgrade, University of New York Tirana (Albania), Institute for Central Eastern and Balkan Europe (Italy), University of Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (Bosnia and Herzegovina), with the support of the European Commission (grant to support the Jean Monnet Activities within the Erasmus+ Programme). The project facilitated the creation of a consortium of higher education institutions, civil society organizations and research institutions with the purpose of delving into the question of reconciliation in the Western Balkans.
The website “Serbian-Albanian Friendship” is one of the activities of the project “Towards the Politics of Serbian-Albanian Friendship“, realized through support from the European Fund for the Balkans. It contains a rich, open-access internet database that provides textual, visual and documentary knowledge on Serbian-Albanian relations, and contains material in Serbian, Albanian and English, containing:
– Books about Serbian-Albanian relations, particularly those that have an affirmative or reconciliatory character;
– Dozens of authors’ names and several hundreds of articles from all fields and aspects of SerbianAlbanian relations;
– Video database containing the interviews with 12 prominent Serbian and Albanian intellectuals, who offered their views on the topics regarding the possibilities of historical reconciliation, friendship and improving cooperation between Serbs and Albanians;
– A segment Serbian-Albanian dialogue which contains a rich material published on this issue in the media in Serbian and English from 2018 to date;
– Various archival material, like well-known documentaries, plays or movies, TV content, links to important joint projects and CSOs and the like.
This website, therefore, offers many examples of friendship, cooperation, joint research, interviews, educative material on Serbian-Albanian relations, documents and articles of common interest and other related material that we purport to popularize and make widely accessible. The presentation in English will include the addresses of Jelica Minić on behalf of the European Movement in Serbia, and Aleksandar Pavlović and Filip Lukić, website authors, and will be followed by a Q&A session. The working languages will be Serbian and English.
The event is finished.
