[Workshop] Photo Essay: Ethnographic Toolkit for Exploring Industrial Heritage through Photography (PerspectLab)
🗓 March 28 🕒 10:00 CET 🔹 IFDT
The goal of the workshop Photo Essay: Ethnographic Toolkit for Exploring Industrial Heritage through Photography is to introduce visiting students to the wider socio-spatial context of the Port of Belgrade, and to equip them with empirical research tools and ethnographic techniques needed to conduct ethnography-inspired fieldwork during their stay in Belgrade.
In addition to the contextualization of locations and methodological equipment, the workshop also includes an overview of the previous research works of guest students in order to jointly shape their experiences, interests, political positions and research questions in the format of photo-essays. Based on the knowledge and with the help of the tools acquired at the workshop, students will collect research and visual data during their stay in Belgrade, further integrate them into a narrative and create a photo-essay.
The workshop is organized as part of the Erasmus+ project “Mines and Water: Interpreting the European Industrial Heritage”, which is led by a consortium made up of three European universities in Dalarna (Sweden), Charleroi (Belgium) and Bergamo (Italy), a non-governmental organization from Belgrade – the Center for Urban development, and the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory as an associated partner.
The workshop is led by Dušanka Milosavljević and Sara Nikolić, researchers at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory.
