ERA Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Daniel Heide

Daniel Heide is an ERA Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade. He has a Master’s Degree in Classics (Dalhousie, 2016) and a PhD in Religious Studies (McGill, 2022). He is a scholar of Greek Patristics and Neoplatonism, with a focus on St Maximus Confessor. He is the author of The World as Sacrament: The Eucharistic Cosmology of St Maximus Confessor, published by Brill. He is also a co-editor and contributor of Subsidia Maximiana (Brepols), a scholarly series which publishes monographs and conference proceedings dedicated to the study of St Maximus Confessor. Dr Heide has lectured at McGill University in Montréal, Canada, and is presently focused on organizing colloquia and study groups in the Balkans with the aim of furthering the study of St Maximus, especially from a philosophical perspective.
