On December 16, 2024, the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Belgrade’s Built Heritage: Challenges of Preservation in the Context of Contemporary Urbanization,” organized by Perspect Lab. The event brought together experts in heritage conservation, as well as researchers from Perspect Lab at IFDT.
The panelists included Estela Radonjić Živkov, anthropologist and conservator; Vesna Marjanović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra Serbia; Miljan Salata, architect and member of the working group for the Declaration on the Fate of the General Staff and the Belgrade Fair; Ksenija Radovanović, research assistant at IFDT; Dušanka Milosavljević, research associate at IFDT; Miloš Ćipranić, research fellow at IFDT; and Branko Milošević, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade. The discussion was moderated by Sanja Iguman Glušac, research fellow at IFDT and coordinator of the Perspect Lab research laboratory.
The participants addressed the challenges of preserving architectural heritage from various scientific and professional perspectives, as well as potential solutions to the ongoing crisis affecting Belgrade’s cultural and historical heritage.
