Research abstract

The research explores the feminist politics of memory developed in the context of the Women’s Court – a feminist approach to justice – a grassroots initiative of transitional justice addressing the legacies of the Yugoslav wars. By engaging with the region’s fragmented and contested memoryscape, the study analyses how feminist activists challenged nationalist and patriarchal narratives and articulated an alternative memorial and political space that moves beyond both liberal and nationalist paradigms of victimhood and justice.
