The international academic conference Elections – Democracy – Crisis (EDC 2026) was held at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory on 26 and 27 March 2026.

The conference was jointly organized by the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (IFDT), University of Belgrade, and the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw (WNPiSM UW), with Insajder television serving as the media partner.

The event was opened by Dr Gazela Pudar Draško, Director of IFDT, and Professor Łukasz Zamęcki, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, who emphasized the importance of international academic cooperation and the need for critical reflection on current political and social developments.

Over the course of the two-day conference, around 50 participants from more than 15 countries took part in a series of panels and academic debates dedicated to the contemporary challenges of democracy, electoral processes, political representation, social conflict, and institutional change.

This was the third edition of the EDC conference, while the next one will be held in Warsaw in 2028.
