FDT welcomes Sultana Jovanovska, a PhD candidate from the University of Ljubljana, for a short-term research visit under the auspices of the WBF Move Grant.
Her project is titled “Ethnographic Research on Lithium Mining and Environmental Justice in Serbia” and focuses on the Jadar Valley lithium mining project and the grassroots resistance movements in Serbia. The project forms part of her doctoral dissertation, which examines how large infrastructural projects related to resource extraction reshape territorial subjectivities and socio-ecological relations in the Balkans.
The WBF Move Grants programme of the Western Balkans Fund supports mobility and regional cooperation across the Western Balkans by providing financial support for short-term projects that foster collaboration, research and knowledge exchange.
