This project aims at establishing the national dialogue mechanism in order to create coalition between academic workers, as well as between academia and decision makers, women’s organizations, CSOs, gender experts and media in Serbia. This project responds to the need for tailor-made actions to support equality between women and men in academic community.

Specifically, the project aims:

  • To coalize between policy makers, CSOs, academia and media in order to create sustainable cooperation which is necessary for addressing the obstacles to equality of women and men academic workers.
  • To publicize in cooperation with media to promote gender tolerance and respect as a positive social value in public sphere. Thus, making change in attitudes and behaviour through media reporting would make the greatest impact and ensure the sustainability of the change.

IFDT has following tasks:

  • to organize an Open Dialogue Conference on gender equality aimed at exchange of knowledge and information in specific areas in order to enhance the dialogue of all relevant actors;
  • to establish the Women’s Academic Network in order to join forces within the state universities in Serbia for further investigation of gender issues, monitoring implementation of the policy framework and intervention in the public sphere in order to promote gender equality and culture of nonviolence.
