The project wants to build a network of research cooperation on Jewish studies in South-eastern Europe as a new academic initiative focused on the region of South-eastern Europe. This initiative stems from the fact that this region has an extremely rich and diverse Jewish history, culture, philosophy, theology that is almost completely hidden and under-researched, both in the region and in the wider academic world.
In this sense, the project wants to strengthen cooperation among experts in the region who deal with these issues, to regularly organize scientific activities (conferences, publications) and to establish a joint university program on Jewish studies in South-eastern Europe.
