From Stalinism to Self-Managing Socialism: Contributions to the Critique of Socialism in Congressional documents of KPJ/SKJ – From the 5th to the 11th Congress
This book provides a systemic analysis of the seven post-war party congresses held from 1948 until 1978, with the premise that congressional documents are an unavoidable source for examining the ruling party’s understanding of socialism, given that they deal with politics, economics, culture, the relation of the Party to the state, social structure, the role of the working class, democracy in socialism, international relations. The author is seeking to establish an ideological narrative for the KPJ/SKJ in the thirty-year period, from trust in Stalinism as the only possible socialism, to the idea that the only true socialism is only possible through an anti-Stalinist understanding of basic socialist principles, that is, the self-managing system.
