Well-Being, Development and Social Justice
Amartya Sen, Martha C. Nussbaum, Well-Being, Development and Social Justice: An Introduction to an Ability-Based Approach edited, introduction written and translated from English by Bojana Radovanović and Marko Konjović, Akademska knjiga – IFDT, Novi Sad – Belgrade, 2020, p. 155.
The book Well-Being, Development and Social Justice: An Introduction to an Ability-Based Approach is the authors’ attempt to present to the domestic audience an influential paradigm of thinking about socio-economic development and justice. Accordingly, the authors of this book, in addition to the introductory study, convey three texts of the progenitors of the ability-based approach: economist and Nobel Prize winner Amartya Sen and prominent philosopher Martha Nussbaum. The aim of this book is simple: to present to the readers the basic theoretical settings of the ability-based approach, as well as the possibilities of its practical application, and to point out some of the key disagreements between its creators.
