“Like an Image of Things” examines the meaning behind Descartes famous subtitle in which ideas are “like images of objects”. The subject of the study is not Descartes’ theory of ideas itself, but its grounds. According to Predrag Milidrag, it is important to first understand the constitution of ideas themselves, that is, begin from the very foundations of Descartes theory, in order to be able to properly understand issues such as clarity and distinctness of ideas or the problem of ideas of sensible qualities.
