The studies brought together in this volume are the result of studies of the development of Serbian liberal thought. The book examines the beginnings of liberal thought in Serbia, that is, the period from 1848 to the 1970s. The author took a problem-based approach, around three topics: “rule of law,” the relationship of liberals towards Slavophilia as a form of conservative social thought, and the liberal critique of socialist ideas in Serbia.
