Ismael Benkrama

Ismael Benkrama is a doctoral researcher at the research group LOOPS at Free University, Berlin and a visiting researcher at the Center for Civil Society Research. His research focuses on framing processes, sociology of emotions and the political psychology of protest mobilization.

Before obtaining his Master Master’s degree with a thesis on “Emotional Framing in Protest Mobilization” he studied political science at Free University, Berlin, Duke University and American University of Beirut.

Research abstract

Ismael Benkrama is conducting fieldwork on the occupation of university faculties in Serbia. His research focuses on the logistics and infrastructure of protest encampments and how they enable sustained protest mobilization, with particular attention to the role of affective infrastructure and emotion work within protest camps.
