Mijatović Nevena
Nevena Mijatović is a doctoral candidate at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philosophy. In her doctoral research, she examines the psychology of right-wing populism from a sociocultural perspective, focusing on how right-wing populism mediates citizens’ mind in disputes, specifically how it mediates the thinking about the issue at stake, about oneself, and about the Others. As a case study for theory development, she analyzes the dispute surrounding the canopy collapse in Novi Sad.
She received a research grant for her doctoral project as one of ten awardees in the annual global competition of the International Society of Political Psychology.
At the Institute, she is engaged in the Laboratory for Active Citizenship and Democratic Innovations, where she primarily works on the implementation and analysis of citizens’ assemblies. She is an associate of the psychology seminar at the Petnica Science Center, where she conducted her first research in social psychology already during high school.
