Mile Savić was born in Čelopek near Zvorik in 1957. He graduated and obtained his Masters and Doctoral degrees at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. He taught philosophy in Mali Zvornik until 1995. He worked at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory from 1995 until 2003. From 2001 until 2003 he was the Institute’s Director and editor-in-chief of Philosophy and Society (Filozofija i društvo). In 2003 he became Full Professor at the Faculty of Educational Science, and was elected its dean in 2012. He was the President of the Serbian Philosophical Society and the Head of the Council of the Kruševac Philosophical-Literary School. He was a member of the Council of the Philosophical School Felix Romuliana in Zaječar, and a member of the Radio Belgrade jury for the book of the year in the fields of esthetics, art theory and philosophy. He was the State Secretary in the Ministry for Science and advisor to the Serbian Prime minister Vojislav Koštunica.

He passed away in Belgrade in 2015.
