Short Biography
Dmitrii Trubnikov has a joint PhD degree (in Law) from Tilburg University and Bologna University, and a Candidate of Economic Sciences degree (the Russian name for PhD in Economics) from Samara State University of Economics. In 2019 – 2022 he worked as Associate Professor of the Department of Management at Saint Petersburg School of Economics and Management of HSE University (Russia), where he also was Academic Director of the Master in International Business program.
Dmitrii’s PhD research “The Competitive Order for the New Economy: Lessons from the Telecommunications Experience” was focused on the evolution of the European telecommunication sphere and its regulation. Currently, the areas of his research interests are connected to political economy, technological development and public policy.
Apstrakt projekta
Sadašnje istraživanje ima za cilj da analizira evoluciju ruskog segmenta interneta (Runet) kroz okvir „generacije informacija kontrole“ sa posebnim fokusom na prirodu potraživanja rente u ruskom društvu. Iako je jasno da tehnološke promene donose nova moćna oruđa u ruke autoritarnih vladara, objašnjenje ovog fenomena iz čisto političke perspektive bi previše pojednostavilo problem. S jedne strane, autoritarne vođe zaista imaju ogromne koristi od pretvaranja svojih zemalja u neku vrstu orvelovskog sveta za nadzor. S druge strane, zemlje poput Rusije uveliko eksploatišu tržišne mehanizme, te je razumno pretpostaviti da upravo tržišna sfera u okviru postojećih institucionalnih aranžmana jača moć ovih režima.
