Vilenica Ana
Ana Vilenica is a co-author of the project Sustaining Civil Society in the Context of Multiple Crises (SustainAction). She is employed at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory in Belgrade, with a research affiliation at Södertörn University in Stockholm. Previously, she worked on the European Research Council project Inhabiting Radical Housing at the Polytechnic University and the University of Turin, where she was a member of the Beyond Inhabitation Lab from 2021 to 2025. In 2016, she was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship from the European Commission for a project on housing deprivation in Serbia and the United Kingdom, which she conducted at London South Bank University. She has been a visiting researcher at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY), within the Center for Place, Culture and Politics, as well as at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires. She has also worked as a research associate at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield and as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Arts in Novi Sad. She is a member of the editorial collective of Ultra-red Journal. Her work focuses on housing, urban, and anti-extractivist struggles on the European periphery, in the United Kingdom, and across the Americas. Her current research focuses on questions of green extractivism and anti-extractivist struggles, as well as on infrastructures of socio-political engagement in Eastern Europe and the Baltic Sea region.
