Painfully on point after a summer of burning forests, failing harvests, dried up rivers and technological toxicity, *The Plot is on Fire* is a timely book that asks how we can get out of ecocidal, genocidal and petro-techno-chauvinist capitalism through collective resistance and care. Centering on agriculture as well as the building of non-toxic forms of socioecological reproduction and infrastructures of the commons, this book outlines key ways forward as well as helping to clarify some of the core contradictions we face today. It looks beyond patriarchy, plantation and progress as models for development and narrative,offering other plots: other ways of planning, of reproducing life and growing food, of thinking and using technology, of telling our story. The Plot is on Fire is a book rooted in deep conversation with agroecological, transecofeminist, decolonial, hacker and other movements, outlining open ended struggles and strategies.

Manuela Zechner is researcher, organizer and educator – at the Common Ecologies school, which she co-founded, as well as currently at the Centre for Applied Ecolgical Thinking (Copenhagen University). She produces the Earthcare Fieldcast and builds a Future Archive since 2005.
