[Book seminar] What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Heritage in Crisis (PerspectLab)
The discussion “What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Heritage in Crisis” opens questions about the meaning, role, and fate of natural and cultural heritage in contemporary Belgrade — a city that is changing too quickly, forgetting its own past in that process. The occasion for the discussion is the book “What Do We Talk About When We Talk About Heritage” by Sanja Iguman Glušac, which examines the ways in which heritage becomes a tool for reflecting on identity, spatial politics, and everyday life. In a time when public good and community are under pressure due to various crises, this event provides an opportunity to reflect on what heritage means today — and to whom it truly belongs.
Joining the author in the discussion are:
Ljiljana Gavrilović, Full Professor/Principal Research Fellow (retired), Centre for Museology and Heritology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade;
Predrag Krstić, Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade;
Miloš Ničić, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade;
Vesna Marjanović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra Serbia.
The discussion will be moderated by Miloš Ćipranić, Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade.
