We are pleased to invite you to join us on June 26, 2022, starting at 11:00 AM in SKCNS Fabrika, Novi Sad for the “Between Common History and Conflict Identities” panel discussion.
In this panel discussion, we will discuss the use of the past to create a politics of identity today as well as the possibility and the usefulness of using narratives of common history and cultural closeness for reconciliation and a better future. Moreover, we will discuss the role of historical revisionism as well as the role of historians themselves in interpreting key historical events. Finally, we will look at the role of memory in the attempt to bridge the shadows of the past, misunderstandings and past injustices that have marked and that continue to mark social and political relations in our region.
