[Panel discussion] Sreten Ugričić: writer, astronomer, terrorist
🗓 24. March 🕒 12:00pm 🔹 IFDT/online
At the panel discussion on March 24th, 2022, at 12:00 pm, at the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, we will discuss the collection of texts Sreten Ugričić: writer, astronomer, terrorist, which was published last year by Worker’s commune LINKS and MosArt.
For more than two decades, we have completely neglected the topic of transitional justice and reconciliation. It is time to reopen some questions.
How and why have we become a threat to our neighbors again? Where did the process of transitional justice get stuck and have we forever missed the opportunity to build a new collective identity that is not based on crime? What is the responsibility of the political, but also cultural and intellectual elite for the failures of dealing with the past and the return of the regime from the 1990s to power? These and many other questions that are crucial for understanding the present moment were asked by the authors of this collection. We will discuss these issues with the participants in our panel discussion.
Participants:
• Sreten Ugričić – author and former director of the National library of Serbia
• Olga Manojlović Pintar – The Institute for Recent History of Serbia
• Nemanja Mitrović – Faculty of media and communications
