🗓 9. March 🕒 6:00pm 🔹 Plato club
Two of the latest publications of the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory will be presented as part of the opus of the studies of engagement on Wednesday, March 9th, starting at 18.00 at the Plato Club.
The Glossary of Engagement (editors: I. Cvejić, G. Pudar Draško, M. Losoncz) is a collection of terms that depict the structure of engagement by going through various factors and issues to which the topic of engagement obliges us. Who is engaged (subjects of engagement), what is being engaged in (fields of engagement), what are the basic forms and the basic assumptions of engaged action, how and in what ways is engagement possible, how is engagement undertaken and where does engagement lead to (outcomes)?
Engaged Words (editors: G. Pudar Draško, Z. Zarić) is a collection of interviews or twenty “thought exercises” which articulate the unfinished answers of global intellectuals to current social issues and struggles. The event that connects the interviews in this book is the petition in support of preserving the academic autonomy of the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade which was launched in May 2020. Much unique in its scope in the last 20 years, the petition brought together over 400 representatives of the global academic community. Our interlocutors and the mirror the global academic community, showed us how to move between the past and the future in order to create our present through engaged acts instead of standing aside.
