Regional Scientific Conference “Holocaust and Theology” (Shoahlab)
🗓 21. April 🕒 10:00am 🔹 online
Regional Scientific Conference Holocaust and Theology,
April 21, 2022, 10 AM – 5:15 PM, online
On April 21, 2022, starting at 10 am, a one-day online conference Holocaust and Theology will be held in the joint organisation of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Banja Luka and the ShoahLab: Holocaust Studies Laboratory of the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade (IFDT).
The intention of the Conference organizers is to gather and confront in one place the representatives of different approaches and elaborations, which have taken place and are taking place in this region and which reflect the impact of the Holocaust on religious doctrines – or its absence. Theological and secular interpretations and provocation of the Holocaust to theological thought will try to reconstruct typical reactions of religious communities, possible changes in their orthopractices, but also elements that affirm, refute or modify ethical teachings, eschatological perspectives or social dimensions of orthodoxy. Some of the issues we will open at this conference are: the issue of the tremendum and/or the Holocaust; what traces of the Holocaust do we (not) find in modern theological theories?; what is the theological heritage of the Holocaust?; what kind of Holocaust scars do we (not) recognize in contemporary social movements?; and what is the future of religions after the Holocaust?
Conference participants include: Mark Losoncz (IFDT), Oliver Jurišić (Catholic Theological Faculty in Sarajevo), Oleg Soldat (FP, University of Banja Luka), Dragana Stojanović and Danica Igrutinović (Faculty of Media and Communications, Singidunum University, Belgrade), Stojana Valan (KŠC “Blaženi Ivan Merc”, Banja Luka), Saša Laketa (FP, University of Banja Luka), Vladimir Cvetković (IFDT), Zorica Kuburić (Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad) and Muhamed Velagić (International University of Sarajevo).
