The Laboratory for the Theory, Creation, and Politics of Space (PerspectLab) has established a partnership with the Department of Geography at Humboldt University of Berlin within the Circle U. Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) programme, through the project Insurgent Berlin–Belgrade.
This COIL focuses on the comparative study of urban struggles, space, and social conflicts in Berlin and Belgrade, with particular attention to housing, urban transformations, resistance, and everyday practices that emerge “from below.” The project brings together students and researchers from both cities within a shared teaching framework based on collaborative work, discussion, and joint assignments in mixed international teams.
The Insurgent Berlin–Belgrade project contributes to strengthening IFDT’s international cooperation and to the development of critically oriented, experimental teaching formats that connect academic work with contemporary social and urban issues.
