The University of Belgrade strongly condemns the egregious physical assault on Dr. Marija Karanikić Mirić, a member of the Senate, President of the Grouping Council, and professor at the Faculty of Law, and on Aleksandar Vovčuk, a security guard at the Faculty of Law. Such attacks are a direct consequence of unlawful pressures and a months-long media campaign against the University of Belgrade.
We demand that all who speak publicly immediately cease aggressive rhetoric towards the University of Belgrade, its employees, and students, and we call on the competent state authorities to prosecute the assailant as soon as possible.
