Fiket Irena
Irena Fiket is a Senior Research Associate with an interdisciplinary research focus on democratic participation, social movements and deliberative communication in contemporary democratic and hybrid political contexts. She has conducted research at several European universities, including Florence, Siena, Bologna, and Oslo. Her work has resulted in numerous publications, including books, journal articles, and book chapters in leading academic outlets such as European Union Politics, Social Policy and Society, Italian Political Science Review, Southeast European and Black Sea Studies, Politics and Governance, Oxford University Press, Palgrave, Routledge etc. She has over 15 years of research experience, complemented by extensive practical work on democratic participation with civil society organizations and public institutions. She has participated in dozens of international research projects addressing these themes and is a member of several expert groups and networks focused on participatory democratic innovations. She is also among the pioneers of implementing deliberative democratic innovations in Serbia, particularly through her work within the Laboratory for Active Citizenship.
