Bojić Ljubiša
Ljubiša Bojić is a communication scientist and futurologist whose research sits at the intersection of complex systems, AI alignment, and the societal impact of emerging technologies. He is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade, a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for AI Research and Development of Serbia, and an External Faculty Member at the Complexity Science Hub Vienna.
Dr. Bojić’s core research focuses on developing frameworks that bridge social sciences and computational methods, combining psychometrics, futures studies, agent-based simulations, and large language models to understand how algorithmic systems shape human values, behaviour, and democracy. His work informs global AI governance, having contributed to UNEP, the EU AI Office, and Serbian national AI policy.
He is the author of the paper “CERN for AI: A Theoretical Framework for Autonomous Simulation-Based Artificial Intelligence Testing and Alignment,” which was featured by the World Economic Forum as Strategic Insight and cited in the G7 AI Hiroshima Policy Framework Policy Brief. His research has been published in leading journals including Scientific Reports, Futures, Computers in Human Behavior, Sustainability Science, Royal Society Open Science, and Humanities & Social Sciences Communications.
Dr. Bojić is the founder of EMERGE: Forum on the Future of AI-Driven Humanity and the initiator of the Belgrade Digital Freedom Pledge, aiming to stimulate conversations about recognizing recommender systems as a public good and digital identity as a human right. He serves as an Associate Editor of Springer Nature’s Humanities & Social Sciences Communications and is an Executive Board Member of the Horizon Europe project TWON (Twin of Online Social Networks).
He has been appointed to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Foresight Expert Panel by UNEP Chief Scientist Andrea Hinwood and serves as a member of the EU AI Office Working Groups on AI Act implementation. He was featured in The Edinburgh Companion to the New European Humanities (Edinburgh University Press, 2024) as a founder of a new multidisciplinary approach to digital humanities.
Dr. Bojić received his PhD from Université Lumière Lyon 2, France in 2014, with a dissertation awarded “very honorable with congratulations of the committee.” He has authored over 80 scientific papers and is a frequent commentator on AI in leading international media including Radio Free Europe, Bloomberg Adria, Euractiv, and N1 TV. His work has been cited by Psychology Today, Nature, and the Regulatory Review at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
