Within the Mapping PhDs in the Diaspora project, organized by the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade and supported by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, we are conducting a survey for all our most educated experts from the diaspora who have obtained or are in the process of obtaining a doctoral degree abroad. This research is highly important once we look at the statistics about the “brain drain” that has been going on in Serbia for decades.
The goal of this project is to create a database of our most educated experts from the diaspora, to identify their readiness for a more comprehensive and lasting cooperation with scientific institutions and the scientific community in Serbia, and to gather ideas on how it could be established and deepened. Many of them are already working at foreign universities, scientific institutions, and leading companies. Their potential for Serbia is mostly untapped, and individual engagements, if they exist, are unknown.
The information collected by this mapping project will be publicly available on the website of the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade, at: anketa.ifdt.bg.ac.rs. in compliance with privacy law.
We invite colleagues who are in the diaspora, as well as colleagues who know people from the diaspora to fill out the survey and pass the survey on.
The survey is bilingual, in Serbian and English.
