On Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5, in the premises of the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, the project team held the first meeting within the project “UP2US: mapping the understanding of contemporary anti-Semitism in Serbia, Croatia and Romania“.
The three-year project, led by the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory and the non-governmental organization Terraforming, began in March of this year and aims to develop a specific methodology for mapping the understanding of contemporary anti-Semitism and the capacity to identify it in Serbia, Croatia and Romania.
At the meeting, the partners from Serbia, Croatia and Romania, after the opening remarks, discussed anti-Semitism in the media, international projects on the recognition and fight against anti-Semitism, the ways in which today’s anti-Semitism is researched, and especially the methodology that the project team should develop in to the process of understanding today’s anti-Semitism and its consequences in Serbia, Croatia and Romania.
Further steps in the implementation of the project were agreed upon, as well as the principle program for the next meeting in Rijeka.
