On October 14th, the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London (UCL) hosted a panel discussion titled “Now-ness.” Prominent philosophers, architects, and theorists of architecture and art had the opportunity to discuss how architecture can act as a force of change, anticipation, or healing, and how designing, building, and intervening in today’s environment can resonate with our anthropogenic habitats and cities. In this context, special attention was placed on the questions of how we, as architects and philosophers, relate to the current perception of our world and how that relates to our experience of the present and the future.
The event featured the participation of: Charlotte Skene Catling (Skene Catling de la Peña), Jonathan Wolff (Oxford University), Petar Bojanić (University of Belgrade and Khōrein), Andrea Canclini (Lancaster University and Khōrein), Lidia Gasperoni (Bartlett), Stelios Giamarelos (Bartlett), Aya Jazaierly (Loughborough University and Khōrein), Mpho Matsipa (Bartlett), and Snežana Vesnić (University of Belgrade and Khōrein).
This event was co-organized by the IFDT and Khōrein: Journal of Architecture and Philosophy.
