The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory will suspend its operations on Friday, January 24, 2025, in support of student demands and solidarity with the broader social movement advocating for change.
The extended rector’s collegium of the University of Belgrade called on all university employees to suspend work on January 24, 2025, to show their support for students.
With this act, the University of Belgrade employees urge the relevant authorities to fully address the students’ legitimate demands and condemn hate speech in the public sphere and all forms of violence against members of the academic community. Verbal and physical attacks and intolerance towards students must stop, and perpetrators of unlawful acts should be sanctioned in accordance with the law.
