Organized by the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, the second open forum on educational reforms was held, concluding this year’s cycle of discussions with teachers. The event featured guest speaker Prof. Dr. Siniša Lakić, a psychologist and professor at the Faculty of Philosophy in Banja Luka, who presented insights from research and efforts to implement high school education reform in the Republika Srpska.
Participants discussed why high-quality reform proposals often fail to translate into tangible changes, what obstacles stand in the way of educational reform, and how they might be overcome. A special focus was placed on the roles of teachers, unions, universities, parents, and other social actors in building support for long-term, sustainable educational change.
Siniša Lakić emphasized: “It is not enough to have a good reform idea; one must understand the interests of all stakeholders and build alliances that will enable change to truly happen.”
