This volume presents a systemic discourse analysis, allowing for better understanding of cognitive, and then media mechanisms used to cover the distance from the Yugoslav version of ‘difference in unity’ (brotherhood and unity) to seven different versions of ‘sameness’. The contributing authors take up the question of discourse as one of the central factors of establishing and conducting power and violence, as well as the production of otherness in the course of the creation of new states from former Yugoslavia.
