The problem of the other remains marginal in the West. As long as this is so, the West will be in monologue with its own life world. The first part of the book interprets the logocentric paradigm and the way it was understood by Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Foucault, Lyotard, Rorty, and Habermas. The second part presents a critique of a logocentric paradigm in these authors (including Wittgenstein’s idea of language games). The book’s third part presents points of entry that would open up the logocentric paradigm in the given authors, and the final part illuminates certain aporias and the limits of the modern-postmodern debate.
