CURRICULUM VITAE

Krstić Predrag

Predrag Krstić earned his PhD in 2014 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, defending a dissertation entitled “The Dispute over Enlightenment: History and the Contemporary Relevance of a Controversy.” In the academic year 1992/1993 he was engaged as a research trainee at the same faculty. Since 1993 he has been a professor of philosophy at the Mladenovac Gymnasium and later at the Sixth Belgrade Gymnasium. From 2006 he was employed at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade—until 2016 as a research trainee, then as a research associate, and since 2021 as a senior research associate. He is a full professor at the Faculty of Media and Communications, Singidunum University.

He participated in the implementation of scientific research projects of the Ministry of Science and Technological Development: “Enlightenment in European, Regional and National Contexts: History and Contemporary Relevance” (2006–2010); “Bioethical Aspects: Morally Acceptable in Biotechnologically and Socially Possible” (2011–2014); “Ethics and Environmental Policies: Institutions, Techniques and Norms Facing the Challenge of Natural Environment Change” (2011–2019).

He was the initiator and active member of four research laboratories at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory: for educational theory, for Holocaust studies, for social critique, and for studies of philanthropy, solidarity, and care. He is the founder and editor of the editions Prudentia, Minima, and What We Talk About When We Talk About… published by the Institute, as well as the first editor-in-chief of the journal Critique (2020), today a member of its editorial council. He is a regular contributor to the Third Program of Radio Belgrade.

In addition to numerous authored and co-authored contributions, translations, and editorial undertakings in domestic and foreign scholarly periodicals, as well as eighteen monographs, he is also the author of two books of poetry and one novel. He is the laureate of the “Nikola Milošević” Award for 2008.
