Pavlović Aleksandar
My main research interests are cultural history of the Balkans, Serbian and Balkan oral and written tradition, Serbian-Albanian relations and traditional Balkan society. I was a visiting fellow at the Centre for Southeast European Studies in Graz, New Europe College in Bucharest and Albanian Institute for International Studies in Tirana. I previously worked as an editor at Radio Belgrade Third Programme and teaching associate at the University of Nottingham. I received several scholarships and awards, such as: Civil Society Scholar Award, Stipendien der Republik Österreich, Global Supplementary Grant, Overseas Research Students Award for England… I was a coordinator at the international project Figuring out the Enemy: Re-imagining Serbian-Albanian Relations, a pioneering effort in promoting regional scholarly cooperation and several other projects that promote(d) regional cooperation. I published a book Epika i politika (Beograd: XX vek, 2014) and co-edited Figura neprijatelja: preosmišljavanje srpsko-albanskih odnosa (Beton/IFDT: Belgrade, 2015; Albanian edition: Figura e armikut: ripërfytyrimi i marrëdhënieve shqiptaro-serbe, English edition: Rethinking Serbian-Albanian Relations: Figuring out the Enemy, Routledge, 2018 [forthcoming]). In addition to my academic publications, I am a regular contributor to cultural supplement Beton, and I also occasionally publish in newspapers Danas, Politika and Koha ditore, and on-line at Balkans in Europe Policy Blog.
