How to conceptualize and to understand teaching as a profession? How to approach teacher education?
What’s the relation between teacher educataion and conceptualization of teaching profession and teachers tasks and roles? How do social changes influence and transform teaching profession and different questions in and about classrooom? What’s the relation between different conceptions of teaching profession and dominant conception of education? What’s the relation between primary subject education, teacher education and subsequent professional development? What’s the relation between academic community and teachers community? Can we speak about research perspective in teaching practice and can it be relevant for academic community? Is there a gap between academic research and teaching practice? To what extent teacher education prepares teacher candidates for specific diversities of individual schools, classrooms and every individual pupil? What’s the relataion between promoting the quality of teachers’ education and the quality of education in general?
These are just some of the questions listed for the round table meeting The Education for Education – Problems, Challenges, Perspectives, organized by Laboratory for educational strategies – Edulab, Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, Belgrade. Participants of the round table meeting are: prof. Lidija Radulović, Chief of The Center for Teachers Education, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade, Olja Jovanović, Psychology of learning and delopment lecturer at the Center for Teachers Education, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade, prof. Milan Stančić, Chief of didactic department on Pedagogy departmenr, Faculty of Philosophy, Belgrade and Eleonora Vlahović, Institute for Promotion of Education, Belgrade.
