[Book Discussion] Fragmentation and the Future of Work in Digital Capitalism (DigiLab)
Fragmentation and the Future of Work in Digital Capitalism, edited by Sanja Bojanić, Aleksandra Kanjuo-Mrčela, and Jelena Guga, brings together critical perspectives on the transformations of work, democracy, knowledge, and social institutions under digital capitalism. The volume is the result of a long-standing regional collaboration between the Center for Advanced Studies Southeast Europe at the University of Rijeka, the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Ljubljana, and the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory at the University of Belgrade.
Drawing on different disciplinary perspectives, the contributors examine how digitalization, platformization, and artificial intelligence are reshaping work, knowledge production, and social institutions, highlighting the unequal and contradictory consequences of digital transformation.
The editors will be joined by scholars from sociology, media studies, and digital society studies to discuss these issues and consider how our understanding of work and its future is changing under digital capitalism.
