Researchers from the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory (IFDT) presented the Digital Multimedia Database “Remembering Through Inclusion and Dialogue (SID-IFDT)“, which consists of materials collected during field research on the culture of memory among individuals and communities from the former Yugoslavia.
This database consists of about 60 hours of audio material, as well as photos, maps, and various documentary materials collected by 28 participants in the project „Shared Future: Youth for Dialogic and Inclusive Memory“ from Serbia, Kosovo*, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Montenegro. Their recordings contain interviews thematically focusing on memories of wars, war crimes, migration, women’s experiences, examples of inter-ethnic cooperation during conflicts, and life experiences related to the wars of the 1990s.
The database is publicly available and searchable. Listening to the recordings will be possible at the IFDT facilities after signing a special protocol for data use.
The participants’ fieldwork results were also presented as an exhibition held on June 19 in Novi Pazar.
The project „Shared Future: Youth for Dialogic and Inclusive Remembrance” was implemented by Yugolab of the IFDT in partnership with NGO Svetionik, and supported by the British Council.
