In 2021, the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory of the University of Belgrade established the “Zagorka Golubović” Award, aimed at younger researchers for their socially engaged research work.
The LocGov Research Network is a European research network dedicated to the comparative study of local government. IFDT has been a member of the network since 2022. The latest survey of municipal councillors included more than 30 000 respondents from 28 countries, while the network is currently preparing the third wave of a major comparative survey of mayors across 40 European countries.
The ACT-2 project strengthens the capacities of civil society organizations in Serbia by improving their sustainability, expanding their support base, and promoting greater citizen engagement in public dialogue and decision-making. The Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade, contributes to Outcome 3 by providing expert and analytical support to partner local organizations. IFDT engagement focuses on strengthening advocacy initiatives through methodologically rigorous approaches, the use of empirical data, and the development of evidence-based recommendations.
The project “Shared Future: Youth for Inclusive and Dialogic Remembrance” (1/12/2025 – 30/06/2026) of the Institute of Philosophy and Social Theory, with the support of the British Council, aims to encourage dialogue about the past through education in cultural memory and field research on oral histories. The project collects personal stories and visual materials through a regional network of students from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, and Serbia. The main results are the Digital Archive “Remembrance through Inclusion and Dialogue” (SID-ARH IFDT) and the Exhibition of Student Works, which will be presented during the Summer School in Novi Pazar
